Indie en Madrid

About the scene

Vive Indie in Madrid

Tonight Madrid shows its best indie face. Sala El Sol, downtown, opens its doors with an electric lineup mixing emerging names from the national circuit with international bands passing through the capital. Further north, in Malasaña, Café La Palma hosts one of the most interesting acts in Catalan indie rock, with a set that promises to run past ninety minutes. The Chueca neighbourhood closes the night at El Junco, where the Thursday jam session has become a ritual for fans of indie with jazz roots. Tickets run between eight and fifteen euros depending on the venue, and most allow door payment up to half an hour after the show starts. Comfortable clothes are the only rule: the Madrid indie night doesn't do formality, and the vibe in the crowd is usually as good as the music. If you can only pick one, Sala El Sol guarantees the highest level tonight.
